A tiled façade can last for hundreds of years without requiring much maintenance.
Numerous works stand out in metro stations, century-old and modern building façades and public art projects around the world.
The leftover clay is remixed and reincorporated back into the process. All the water used comes from the factory’s own borehole.
We use resources to the extent that they are needed – we do not have a built-up stock - we produce to order.
Our tiles are made with local and natural raw materials, such as clay, water, pigments and additives which are natural in origin. Clay is a natural raw material which is practically inexhaustible. Most of our production is made with clay extracted from Viúva Lamego’s own clay pit, located near the factory, thereby minimising our ecological footprint.
Our tiles are skilfully produced by our technicians and craftspeople, with rigour and attention to detail.
We use recyclable material such as cardboard and paper for our packaging. Occasionally, non-recyclable packaging elements are used to protect ceramic pieces, especially large-volume pieces.
We continue our research into materials to work towards 100% recyclable packaging.
